Bathroom Art

This weekend I made some art for Baby M's bathroom. Some of the gifts from the shower came in gift bags that so perfectly matched the room I wanted to use them for something. Using some frames I already had and some help from the Cricut the bathroom was quickly transformed for the baby.

Braves Game

Saturday night we went to the Braves game with a big group of Ryan's fraternity brothers. This is an annual event but our first time attending. Ryan, his Dad and EJ went down early in the afternoon and Shannon and I came down later. The best part of the tailgate was the food: 7 layer dip, chicken skewers, mac and cheese, lamp pops, jalapeno poppers, cookies and even ice cream.  It really was impressive; the family that put it on did a great job. Our corn hole game was also a big hit, there were games going on most of the day.  Even though the Braves rallied in the 9th they still lost.  Bummer, but we still had fun.

Stroller Time!

The stroller and infant car seat were delivered on Wednesday, an early birthday present from Mom and Dad.  This was by far the easiest thing we have put together; basically just snapping on some wheels.  But, I think the true test will be installing the bases into our cars.  So I'll hold my judgement until that project is complete..

Ralph was terrified of the whole thing.  He was hiding under the table as we took it out of the box and once we pushed it around he was running away, maybe it reminds him of the vacuum?  Who knows, either way it was funny, but I did feel a little bad for him, the big 80lb baby...

Thanks Mom and Dad!

A crib and lounger

Last week both the crib and the lounger were delivered for Baby M. We put them both together today. The room is almost finished now. We just need the mattress and sheets which are soon to come. The crib came together really fast and looks great on the orange rug.

What a good Dad

Almost there. Thanks for the crib Grandpa Mac!
This little lounger will be perfect for Baby M to relax in while we are in the TV room. Thanks Marc and Nicole!

Baby M's Shower!

Saturday my sweet sister and awesome friends: Jenn, Meredith and Brigid threw Baby M and me the most fabulous shower.  It was amazingly touching how many of my family and friends made it a priority to be there.  Everything was decorated in our colors: aqua, yellow and orange; the food was totally fab, including two of my favorites: deviled eggs and chicken & waffles; and instead of a silly game everyone created a page for Baby M's first Alphabet Book.  I couldn't have asked for a more memorable and perfect morning.
My Mom saved her corsage from the baby shower when she was pregnant with me and gave it to me.  It is adorable, made out of baby socks with a little stork!

All of these girls are married to Ryan's fraternity brothers.  I am so thankful his great friendships have brought these women into my life!

5 of us are pregnant right now.  I'm looking forward to many playdates with them and their little ones in the coming years!

Spending time with Gretchen always brightens my day!

I just love this picture!

Everyone's generosity is so appreciated!

Thank you Jen, Jessie, Brigid & Meredith!!!

We did everything!

Friday was a work hard, play hard kind of day.  Mom and Dad were here to help us finish the kitchen project.  It took lots of muscle, a trip to Lowe's, a trip to Ikea, lots of screw tightening, and some creative thinking but it is finally finished! We couldn't be happier with how it turned out.  The storage is amazing and it looks like something out of a magazine.

The UPS man came late in the afternoon and brought 5 boxes of baby stuff! Including the rocker and ottoman, a gift from Momma Sylvia.  Ryan and I put it together and set it up in the room.  He practiced his rocking skills.  Things really started to come together.  We added the quilt from Heather and put the dots on the wall.  Its looking like a nursery!

We ended the day celebrating Jessie Ann's birthday at King and Duke. It was an epic dinner: octopus, bone marrow, potato salad, corn bread (covered with meat), steak tar tar, lamb belly, scallops, pork chops, hanger steak, artichokes, and French fries.  Everything was so delicious and we wrapped up with all 5 desserts, we couldn't help ourselves. Ryan is still talking about the cookie tart and I think we will remember the chocolate skillet pie for a long time. It was the perfect ending to a hard day - celebrating with family and eating like kings, or dukes, ha!
look at that meat on the bread!
